Czarna Magia – Morbid Affection to Darkness
11th March 2025Hate Them All – III

Label: Old Temple / Release Date: 15th June 2024
Hate Them All is a very traditional Polish Black Metal trio, despite that they were formed some twenty years after the original emergence of the genre (being listed as having sprung into creation in 2010). That has not stopped the band from releasing a whopping 3 Demos, 7 Splits, and EP and three Full-lengths in that timeframe, however. The newest of these came out in the middle of last year and carries the very apt title of III – Something I have previously and will always applaud, due to my rigid and somewhat structured hell that is the recesses of my mind.
Musically the band delivers exactly what it says on the proverbial tin: Satanic Black Metal lyrics set to gritty, distorted instruments (still with a majority of their Punk and Thrash Metal roots clearly present throughout), coupled with a gritty, angry vocal track that has more in common with a barking dog than actual growl. And to no-ones surprise (well, in my case at any rate), it works rather well for them.
III as an album comes across as angry, confrontational and very self-assured – Something that comes across through pure atmosphere throughout all twelve tracks, evident by the fact that I picked up on that fact rather early on despite the several of the tracks are being performed in their native Polish. Said tracks also happens to be my favourite ones on the record, with ”Życiem upokorz śmierć” (which, translated to English means ‘Humiliate Death With Your Life’ according to Google) being the highlight.
So to sum up, Hate Them All has succeeded in creating nearly thirty-two minutes worth of Venom-adjacent Black Metal dredged from the darkest corners of the last century and flawlessly implemented itself into my music collection.
