Bedsore – Dreaming The Strife For Love
4th March 2025Deus Sabaoth – Cycle Of Death

Label: Unsigned / Release Date: 17th January 2025
Deus Sabaoth is a Ukranian Black Metal trio, one that has been active for the last two years, give or take. In that time they have seen it fit to release two Singles, both of whom leading up to – And included on – Their first ever Full-length EP, Cycle Of Death that saw the light of day during the first month of 2025. And while its line-up is mostly consisting of relatively unknown musicians (barring the drummer who seems to have been in quite a number of side projects), there is no question that the three of them are both dedicated to their craft, hard working and immensely talented; Probably most notable not only by the high quality recordings of all seven tracks, but also the excellent mixing and production value – All of which the band managed themselves, being unsigned.
And musically the band is no slouch either. Tracks such as ”Priest” evokes fond memories of the first time I stumbled across early-era Batushka, with its understated yet ever-present drums, relentlessly looping guitar riffs and down-right oppressive growling vocals. Truly Black Metal as interpreted through an Eastern Europpean lens, with all the gritty disdain for the world around them still intact.
Now, at the most base level, Deus Sabaoth have not reinvented the wheel. As a matter of fact, this particular wheel has quite a few hundred miles on it at time of writing. That being said however, this is a completely pristine new wheel, one that will be able to weather the elements, seasons and festivals of the world for years to come if you will let it. And I certainly will.
The seven tracks present on Cycle Of Death adds up to nearly thirty-one minutes. A bit on the shorter end for a Full-length in my opinion, but definitely worth a spin for fans Tableau Mort, Batushka and, to an extent, Au-Dessus.
