4500 Ans Enfermé Dans un Vieux Tombeau Poussiéreux et Scellé Par un Sort Maudit are contenders for the longest band name in the history of (black) metal. Mon Réveil Guidé par le Sablier is the title of this sole member’s latest release, featuring two EP’s of the band recorded in 2023 and 2024.

The entire concept of all these songs refer to an entity that’s ‘…buried inside an ancient tomb since 4500 years, but still being alive’. Since 4500 Ans Enfermé Dans un Vieux Tombeau Poussiéreux et Scellé Par un Sort Maudit is one of the ‘newer’ black metal acts who have improved production quality by introducing additional instruments such as synthesizers. It helps evoking this dark, gloomy and medieval atmosphere. While listening to this album on numerous occassions now, it almost felt as the atmosphere is favored over technical skills?!

The sound on Mon Réveil Guidé par le Sablier is somehow anchored around a traditional structure of guitar, bass, drums and vocals. Furthermore, he also employs synth elements. Guitars feature low tunings and dissonant chords to evoke a sense of menace; solos are rare, and riffs are repetitive. Drumming is not as far as expected, it’s more steady and repetitive.
