Metal Mind Productions, August 2011 (Re-release)
Insanity is the second album of the Thrash/Death metal combo band Darkane – Recently re-released as their fan-base kept on growing. Being one of their first albums, the vocals and instruments are still a bit on the rough side - nevertheless, it is still exactly the way it is today: Fast-tempo, angry vocals, powerful guitars (with the occasional even faster solo), all of which is held in the correct, constant tempo by the pounding of the drums that is whaling away in the background, supported by the bass.
As mentioned before, Insanity is the second studio album from Darkane, and the band has had its share of replacements since then. However, as luck would have it, Darkane have recently gotten their original vocalist back into the band (coincidentally, the same vocalist that is present on this album). This gives new fans to Darkane to relate to this album more easily, seeing as how it is not as different from their newer productions as could be.
If you are a fan of the Melodic Death Metal scene and feel like brushing off a slightly old chestnut, buy this album and place it in your stereo (or, if you are an old nostalgic like myself, get it on vinyl and let it spin under the needle!) This is highly recommended because, despite the fact that the sounds is a little chaotic at times (in a few instances, you almost get the impression that it is the wrong vocal track playing across a wrong song), the musicians are very talented and really pour their essence into the songs on Insanity.
So, despite the few shortcomings this album has, it also reveals a dedicated, talented band on the rise, which makes me want to get my hands on their latest album and see just how far their talent can bring them. http://www.myspace.com/darkane
