Time and time again I mention that I am a fan of female vocals, time and time again I find myself completely enthralled and intoxicated when good metal is combined with that female grace obtainable only through female vocals. Seven Kingdom's self titled release was as good a choice as any to review; and boy was I happy to find it everything I expected and more!
A feeling akin to that of wanting to put words to a though, but being unable to find the exact words that feels justifiable, I hope that the score, high as it is, is as good a reflection of my opinion on this album as any, for I have a hard time pointing out the parts that I like, and thus have a hard time really saying _why_ I like it so much.
Power metal with a keen sound, mesmerizing vocals from Sabrina Valentine, a nice album cover and the general energy put into the songs (as well as the lyrics) are what makes me want to listen to this as loud as I can, and, currently, as much as I can. "The Ones Who Breath The Flame" starts with an excellent display of the magnitude and capabilities of both the female and the male backup vocals. "Vengence By The Songs Of A King" appeals to me with a fury unrestrained and I find myself pressing "repeat" on my iPod a multitude of times whenever it comes up. For fans of bands such as Sonata Arctica, Iced Earth, Nightwish there is definitely something on this album you cannot go without. Visit the websites below for a taste and order your copy, this would not be a choice to regret! http://www.sevenkingdoms.net http://www.myspace.com/sevenkingdoms
